MSSU is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable instructor for Theatrical Set Design Technology. This role involves teaching both foundational and advanced courses in set design, and technology for live theatre productions. The instructor will collaborate closely with students, faculty, and staff in the Theatre Department to foster an environment of creativity and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate courses in set design, and related technologies.
• Provide hands-on instruction in scenic automation, digital design tools (e.g., CAD, Sketchup, Photoshop), and safety protocols.
• Stay current with trends in set design technology and integrate new tools and techniques into the curriculum.
• Mentor students on special projects.
• Collaborate with faculty and production staff on department productions, including set design for theatre performances.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theatrical Design, Technical Theatre, or related field.
• Professional experience in design and/or scenic technology.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, etc.).
• Knowledge of construction techniques, scenic painting, and safety standards.
• Experience teaching or mentoring students in an online or hands-on environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
