Business Administrative Support Coordinator

Department: Dean Business Office
Location: Joplin, MO

General Statement of Job

This position provides operational, accreditation, graduate programs, and other support services to faculty in the Plaster School of Business. This position will manage various projects within the school of business that relate to the operation of the school of business, AACSB and ACBSP accreditations, and multiple graduate programs.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

Provide faculty support:

  • Manage various administrative projects as needed.

Graduate Programs Support:

  • Assist with graduate student recruitment, orientation, retention, and graduation efforts.
  • Represent the PSB at on-campus and off-campus student recruitment and other events as requested
  • Assist with general maintenance of PSB graduate programs.
  • Assist with managing graduate program inquiries.
  • Manage the creation/maintenance/communication of graduate plans of study and enrollment.
  • Attend meetings related to graduate programs as requested.
  • Maintain graduate program handbooks.
  • Manage graduation applications and petition process.
  • Manage graduate admissions related PSB inquiries, tours, meetings as requested.

Administrative Support:

  • Coding of P-Card in UMB
  • Code Invoices (org & acct numbers)
  • Manage the EMS
  • General Supplies/Tech Management
  • Manage facilities Updates/maintenance
  • Website Maintenance

Other Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist PSB leadership team with tasks as requested.
  • Take departmental minutes as needed
  • Develop and provide specific information, reports, and/or special services as requested or required by the University, PSB faculty and/or the Dean.

Other duties as requested.

  • Requires the ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.

  • Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, growth rates and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Requires the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, faculty, staff and members of the public.
  • Requires the ability to communicate orally (in person and by telephone) and in writing.
  • Requires the ability to effectively operate a computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, e-mail and internet skills) and the ability to use (or quickly learn) the Purchase Order, Student Data and other software systems.
  • Requires the ability to make recommendations that influence the budget.
  • Requires the ability to use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
  • Requires the ability to meet deadlines, maintain the highest level of confidentiality and work in a positive team-oriented manner with a variety of people (students, faculty, staff, administrators and members of the public).
